i miss the southern pacific. i wish the SPSF merger had been approved, the BNSF and UP paint schemes suck ASS!!! at least we still have model trains to set up what we think the railroads should look like......

You are correct, GP60 leading!

@RichmanJ93 Til this day I wonder why that was.
-
@RichmanJ93 That was an EMD thing, one of the things that make EMD power sound so musical!

SP locos always had that distinct "whine" as they passed.
-
And six axles on a local when SP ran things? Nothin' new to me, never see a 4 axle job regularly on the Blitz!
-
SP had some of the most innovative locomotives on it's roster, most which stayed on the roster until the end of it's life or end of passenger operations. I'm one who models SP Passenger Trains. but this is good but short recording, good job.

What really sucks ass, looks wise, is the FRA mandated yellow reflective tape on the lower sills.
-
You are correct, the first one was a Cotton Belt GP60.
-
how old is this? wasnt that 1st one a GP-60? i may be wrong.
If this train is a local then why is there two 6 axle units helping out the Cotton Belt GP60 instead of 3 more GP60s?

The Chatsworth trains would originate out of Taylor yard and travel to Gemco yard, about 12 miles away. So anything that was going to be in LA for a short while was used.
