Les phrases de Baudelaire sont tirées du recueil 'Les fleurs du mal', poèmes XXIV et XXV de la section 'spleen et idéal'.

English:
I adore you as much as the nocturnal vault,
O vase of sadness, most taciturn one,
I love you all the more because you flee from me,
And because you appear, ornament of my nights,
More ironically to multiply the leagues
That separate my arms from the blue infinite.

-from poem XXIV (I Adore You as Much as the Nocturnal Vault...)

Why are you not ashamed and why have you not seen
In every looking-glass how your charms are fading?
Why have you never shrunk at the enormity
Of this evil at which you think you are expert,
When Nature, resourceful in her hidden designs,
Makes use of you, woman, (...),
(...), — to fashion a genius?
O foul magnificence! Sublime ignominy!

-from poem XXV (You Would Take the Whole World to Bed with You)

  • I love the art you used. what are they?

  • @brookeonbroadway The first pic(the pianist) is from a musical magazine; I found the pics of the moon and the earth with Google(they are popular pics); the paintings of the woman are from Edvard Munch(La Madone); the pic of the woman singing is from a musical magazine(she was singing an opera of Wagner); the pics of the universe are from Hubbles.
