Central Michigan University Chippewa Marching Band. Post game celebratory march to the ceremonial tree with full drum cadence, followed by the singing and playing of the fight song. (Copied from VHS and edited to fit YouTube time restrictions.)
much better uniforms in those days....recent and current ones do not hold a candle..after-all one of our primary colors is Maroon, not black or the horrid white ones from a few years ago. Bring back ths shakos and dith the piths.
This was actually recorded before I was even born! I graduated last year, and while the tree itself isn't there anymore (they huddle around a different tree not far from this one), they still do just about everything else the same - same cadence, same cheers (including 'I see a tree!'), enticing the drum major to jump off the rock and leaping when he does jump, singing the fight song the first time through then playing it the 2nd time. Nice to see how rich this tradition is!

I was there! On that wet field, what memories that brings back.
