@bonfirejovi It's not always alternate picking, some techniques in this video he was using wasnot taught cause that his own technique. Picking hand is important when you play fast. Sometimes, alternate picking cannot make you play fast perfectly
@bobjoemoe8 clipping the strings as they cross them) these sorts of things may be tricky to recognise for an amature and are the kind of things many people tend to think are just down to not having good enough equipment but in reality its all down to technique and an experienced player will spot this immediately, try and record an album in a proper studio with sloppy shredding like that and it will sound real obvious and real bad.

They're like Guitar World, when they release issues, they include a CD that has videos of lessons and interviews with the artists.
