Eh La Bas - Lizzie Miles and Bob Scobey 1956
Lizzie was born before the turn of last century in New Orleans. She was an authentic Creole jazz singer ( as you will hear here in ELA BA). Her sound sparked audiences everywhere. She worked the theatres throughout the USA. In 1955-57 she often appeared with Bob Scobey and his Frisco Band. Lizzie was 58 when she left the band when travelling became a hardship. She moved back to New Orleans where she sang occasionally. She died at age 67 in 1963
try it on daily motion as well.

  • I DO like a bit of roughouse jazz. No disrespect meant in the way I describe it. This is roughhouse. This is CLASS. A sound I would like to hear live today.
