This video was shot at about 7:30pm on June 14th, from the Burlington St Bridge in Iowa City. It is one of three bridges that connects East Iowa City with West Iowa City. It is due to be closed tomorrow.

  • At one point they actually closed the bridge for both ppl and cars..

  • I'm pretty sure it remained open during the entire time. I think people in Iowa City were waiting for it to close, but it never ultimately did.

  • As someone who once drove across that bridge every day (for about 3 years), I appreciate this update. I find You Tube to be the best source of what I really want to know about the flooding.

  • Thank you for sharing. I lived in Hillcrest in 1996. I remember the river being frozen, some flooding, and twisters but nothing like this.
