Huffington Post Editor-In-Chief Arianna Huffington criticizes the American news media and government alike for developing what she views as an over-reliance on polling data to evaluate decisions.

The Road to 2008: Presidential Politics Today with Arianna Huffington.

Arianna Huffington will join Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy to present the 2008 Henry Cohen Lecture titled, "The Road to 2008: Presidential Politics Today," an up-to-the-minute, headline-driven analysis of the 2008 presidential election. Co-founder and editor-in-chief of the influential Huffington Post, Arianna Huffingon has her finger on the political pulse at the helm of one of the most active communities on the Internet. Just days before the highly anticipated Pennsylvania primary, she will share her behind-the-scenes knowledge of the race for the Democratic nomination and predictions of what is to come between now and November. Following her lecture, she will sign copies of her book, On Becoming Fearles...in Love, Work, and Life.

Arianna Huffington is the 2008 Henry Cohen Lecture distinguished lecturer. Huffington is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, co-host of Left, Right and Center, and author of eleven books including the forthcoming Right Is Wrong: How the Lunatic Fringe Hijacked America, Shredded the Constitution, and Made Us All Less Safe.

Established in 2006, The Henry Cohen Lecture focuses on public policy challenges and solutions for women, children, and families, particularly in impoverished urban settings. The Henry Cohen Professorship, which focuses on these same issues, is an endowed Chair at Milano. The Lecture and Professorship are both named after Milano's founding dean, who served from 1965 to 1983 - The New School

  • Uh, sure, Arianna, polling is like “looking at chicken entrails,” and we’d all be better off with more tried-and-true methods like the censorship “The Huffy Don’t Post” prefers. When I recently used The Huffington Post’s own figures to create my “Joe Averageguy” analogy, which argues that global temperatures have leveled off at best since 1998, The Huffington Post deleted my forum comments and removed my profile, Xarkonul. You can find more information at my YouTube channel (Xarkonul).

  • This woman grates on my ears- even with the volume muted. Just her lips moving is enough to know she is thinking about how wonderful she thinks she is, even if she is talking about something else, darling.

  • "Young people never answer the phone." LOL Wow! Did you actually even think about that moronic statement even just a little bit before you typed it in? It's amazing how people feel totally comfortable showing their stupidity on the internet!

  • @MrFreeLibertarian

The problem with polling is that young people never answer the phone, don't have a landline, or are just too busy to give a response. The only people who are reliably going to answer a phone poll are old people with nothing better to do.

  • The problem with polling is that if you are honest about it progressive liberal agenda is mostly rejected by the American people. Democracy presents the same problem, which is why progressives don't care for it that much.

  • classic limousine liberal

  • id like to pole her alright and im 20.

  • @xmenrus: Agree, sorry about how I wrote my past comment.. I just read it and it seemed a little off in the way it was written.

  • She was married to a republican millionaire but when he lost his bid to be a California congressman, she dumped him while also divorcing him and sold her soul to the democrats. It was a remarkable 'turn on a dime', sort of speak; I suspect it was a lot more profitable than the proverbial dime. Some women of little talent seem to sell what they have that is salable. Some people even sell their souls when they have no intellect.

  • @xmenrus: So she just repeats what other people saying without contributing her own personal ideas...agree..
