Love story between Katharine and Count Almásy. I do not own the clips or the music. each belongs to its respective owners. In memory of Anthony Minghella (1954-2008).

  • I commented on this video months ago but I have to do so again since it's just so amazing! I just watched the movie again (I can't get enough of it!) and you did an excellent job on this. Could you please tell me the name of that beautiful piano piece starting at 2:32? I know you mentioned the names of all the songs before but I couldn't find this one. Anyways great job, 5 stars!(p.s. Fiennes is to die for *sigh*)

  • The song is "Love is where you are", performed by Diana Krall. It's the sountrack of "At first sight". Thanks for your comment!

  • The film is a wonderful evocation of the book. I work as a geologist on the western side of the Gilf Kebir in Egypt which is where Almasy explored (we found remains of his camp there in 2001, now destroyed by idiots). The cave is really an alcove facing west, and you can lie in it with the paintings above as the sun sets and with broken grain grinding querns beside you and imagine the people who swum in the depression in front perhaps 10,000 years ago.

  • one of my favorite movies of all time

  • @spicyjuvenile

The English patient is a good movie, but "Grave of the fireflies" without dubbed sound kicks it's (_|_) hands down. ;)

  • Amazing!

  • What is that song from 4:12 to 5:48? It's beauteous, and I must have it for my ipod!

  • @chopin7tristesse thanx, I'll look out for it ;)

  • @Phersephoie yes. he was 54. a bit soon, indeed. miramax collector's series edition has disc2 where he talks about unused but beautiful cuts etc. you may be interested. It also has a documentary where you can see the director and actors in interaction.

  • @chopin7tristesse :(( RIP Minghela, yuet another good one leaves...

  • @Phersephoie on March 18, 2008.
