Ok - so I've done a bit of homework (thanks to robibm2003) and it was Peggy Lee who added most of the lyrics being sung here - not the William Edward John who first recorded the song and is referred to by robibm2003!
So comparisons with Peggy's version might be more appropriate - and I rather agree with 'redroomsessions' on this one.
Tension? Dissipation? These are cold words to describe this relaxed, sensual vocal rendition from The Red Room - and the keyboard accompaniment/improv is wicked!

robibm2003 - basically your typing shite. This is AMAZING.. & I think you'll find i'm not alone with my views..
Well done Amy! :) x

You have changed the melody. This is not a version, it is another song.

This IS Fever regardless of what you say, Music can take any direction and with Jazz it so will :) Happy Playing!

That is not Fever. That doesn't sound like, therefore it has became in another song. It doesn't matter what direction could take the music, the song must keep its essence, its basic sounds... I don't think that nobody could identify "fever" in what you play.

This interpretation didn't work for me because the tension that was part of this Little Willie John original is dissipated here.
