I'm lucky enough to have got a 1700 Big Bore T'Bird back in May. It has even made the sun shine in the UK this year....... Yes REALLY. It's THAT good!
Awesome bike, very fast (for a Cruiser - I sold my GSXR1000K5 track bike to buy it) handles and brakes well and is even comfy for 200 miles between fill-ups (well maybe 150 cos i thrash it!) Lovely looking and sheer quality. Shite ground clearance but you just hand off around corners a bit - sorted. 10/10 recommended.
and at a reasonable $13K nicely equipped, they're a heckuva lot more affordable than a similar harley... plus they have the advantage of being something other than a V-twin harley clone... like Triumph's tagline says:
"Go your own way!"
(i'll stick to my rocket iii though. i've kinda gotten used to it, y'know?)
All reviews I have read have been favourable. Sometimes brand new models are over engineered and can be better than the models that follow, such as replacing steel with plastic components. Triumph's got a winner here.
What a great looking bike! Doug Douglas Shop is awesome too. I go in every now and then and am always treated great even though I am not buying. Some day I will and it will be from these guys.
I can't wait to buy the 3rd gen of this bike! Let them sort through any engineering issues first, all in all, awesome bike, best built cruiser! Biggest pistons in town, has to have the big bore kit fitted though.
I rode one of these last weekend. My Harley's FOR SALE! This is one big, beautiful, lean-and-mean bad boy. A fast, smooth, comfortable cruiser, that feels/handles like a sportbike. Absolutely unique, while, at the same time, clearly a Triumph. I like the modern, more hi-tech "power cruiser" concept, but I've got a mind-set against Japanese "cruisers". THIS is what I've been waiting for. Gotta have it!
I fell in love with one of these today!!!!!!!!!!!
