  • shanyn! Love the video! Thank you for being so helpful for future JETS :) I will be in Japan this weekend..no big deal. :) Thanks again

  • @cieramai i'm sure you're suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper excited to be here! i hope you love it!

  • The shoes will drive you nuts. I lived in a Japanese house where I had to slip out of my indoor shoes to enter the tatami floors in stocking feet over and over a million times a day as I went in and out of rooms. Will you forget and leave the toilet wearing the toilet only slippers? Yes. Will you walk home in the indoor shoes and leave your real shoes behind? Yes. Do the Japanese like your mistakes? No.

  • @Limastudent i have a tatami room in my apartment, but yeah, i pretty much just walk around barefoot in here al the time or i just have socks on (when it's cold outside!) but taking slippers on and off in a house can definitely be annoying! and i've totally done the bathroom slippers thing! haha!

  • @PathfinderARA it's more common than you think. i don't eat out a ton, so i can't give you a "this is how many times a week i have to take off my shoes" answer... but depends a lot on how the restaurant is set up... bar-type places, places with tatami, you'll have to take off your shoes. there's been times i thought i wouldn't have to take my shoes off, and then we get there and you have to change out of them.

  • @hoosierhana How often do you go to restaurants where you have to take your shoes off

  • @LylesBrother hahaha!! oops!!! i accidentally made a conbini run in mine once! but don't tell anyone! ~_^ and thank you for the birthday wish!!

  • Indoor shoes are indeed a challenge to understand. I accidentally wore my indoor shoes home from work recently. My wife (Japanese) was like... :-) Happy belated B-day! -Kurt :-)

  • @naedaily no worries!!! i appreciate you doing it!! that sounds like a good idea, i was gonna talk about appropriate shirt attire next

  • Hope you dont mind, but i made a video response to your video. Maybe we could do coordinating vlogs so viewers get two different examples. Just a thought, if not thats cool too! Interesting just to see what the deal is for shoes with you down south.....
