A family outing to Chessington Zoo captured on Standard 8mm cine film by my dad who managed to largely erase himself from history whilst obtaining lots of footage that would become quite historically interesting. This film features my mum & sisters enjoying all the joys of a day out at 1960s Chessington including the animals, the little train, and the Guiness clock.
So good to see your film, I started work at Chessington Zoo in 1966 and worked there for 4 years, I recognised the train driver and remember having to empty and clean the penquin pool every week, all done will a brush and broom, I used to put a show on every day at 2 pm feeding the penquins. Amazing trip down memory lane. I have posted a photo slide show of me with the birds I took care of. Take a look.
