Romney is the worst one. He is a complete tool and keeps changing his opinion with the tides of support. Is this a leader? He's a coward, and will say anything to get more votes. I know that's politics, but ppl need to wake up since it seems like he's the front runner. Although I hate everyone, except ron paul, all of them r much better than romney cuz at least they stick to what they r saying. Romney's a joke!

That's why you need to do some more research into Ron Paul. He is truly the only Republican who will limit and shrink the government instead of just talk about it if he runs in 2012.

The soldier was wrong and misleading when he said that soldiers are discharged for being gay. Its not against policy to be gay but to ask and tell people that you are gay. Just like its not against the law for a man to wanna have sex with a female coworker, but it is a different story if you tell the female coworker in detail that you wanna have sex with her. Gay people have a genetic disorder/birth defect, it is unfortunate, but their feelings are not the only ones that matter.

I'm a Republican who is greatly worried for the future of the party. Today, most Republican elected officials just sound ridiculous. No gays in the military? Seriously? Do positions like these actually appeal to the base?

i should reformulate my comment: i find it appalling the disrespect they showed the gay ex-soldier. What should be condemned is not the sexual orientation of a soldier, but the reaction of other soldiers in regards to his/her sexual orientation. What if we said, let's not put African-Americans in a group of white people, because they might have racist feelings and it might create tension in the group? Then people would protest: it's not the skin colour that should be addressed, it's racism.

No one is disallowing homosexuals to be homosexual. No one is hurdling them into convoys and sending them to a desolute island. No one is keeeping them from thriving (brittney goes a bit too far there). Defining marriage a particular way consistant with our founding principles is DEFENSE, not offense...and your ending accusation is too breaktakingly naive and sophomoric even to address.

???of course he'd take their votes....what's he going to do? Reject their ballots? You should respect the fact that he doesn't compromise his convictions for the sake of political office like so many other candidates from every party past and present. Regarding his supposed inconsistancy, I've watched every bit of media he's produced and I've yet to find one.
