"What the heck is a G6?"

Yeah.. what is a G6? You know when you're singing a popular song and you have no idea what you are actually singing about?

"Blinded by the light wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night"

Well... we thought it would be fun if I analyzed the lyrics of popular songs to see what we are all actually singing about while we sing along to them!

And this first video is on the song Like a G6 by the Far East Movement.

The first line means that they must have bottle service at a club.. popping bottles of champagne...

The second line.. When they drink they get slizzard... slizzard is from a Boyz N Da Hood song "Still Slizzard" and it means being drunk.. I know that one. And so do you Mustachee!

Sure Kimberly.

Sizzurp is an illegal drink that contains promethazine and codeine syrup mixed with Sprite and sometimes Jolly Rancher's candies. The combination of the drugs makes you extremely lethargic and is dangerous.. so I recommend that you DO NOT TRY IT! I am shocked that these singers are singing about such a thing!

Now, like Three 6 appears to be a reference to a band called the Three 6 Mafia that has a song called Sippin' on Syrup.

Thanks Marina. Now the next lyric.. Now I'm feelin' so fly like a G6... Well.. a G6 is a.. umm.. what the heck is a G6? Jae? Do you know? No? Hmm...

Yes Kimberly.. I thought YOU were supposed to be analyzing these lyrics..

I know.. just help me out this last time!

OK.. feelin' fly like a G6.. is really very funny in that a G6 makes reference to a Gulfstream G650 jet.. or G6 jet as people call it which is the coolest and the fastest civilian jet on the market! I've only been on a G5 and a G4... the G6 is like SUPER SUPER cool!

So.. feelin' fly like a G6.. is a joke.. get it? Fly means being cool.. but you also fly in a G6 jet! That's so funny!!!

Now the G6 is so cool and SOOO expensive that when the band shows themselves getting into the "G6" at the end of the video.. (Show picture) well.. they're actually getting into a much cheaper G4, 'cause they couldn't afford to actually get a G6! Maybe they're not so fly after all!

Wow.. that was a LOT of information just on the first verse!

The rest of the lyrics are pretty straight forward.. give me some Moet and Crystal Champagne.. girls around me are acting drunk... then he drinks some more of that sizzurp (bad stuff.. watch out!).. then they mention the 808, which is a popular drum machine used in most dance music, they all dance.. then get into their G4 jet which they pretend is a G6!

Cool! So now we've analyzed that song and when you sing along to it, you'll now know what you are singing about!
