Chris Comer, Director of Science for the Texas Education Agency for nine years, was forced to resign after forwarding an e-mail, adding only "FYI", which announced a public lecture by NCSE board member Barbara Forrest, an expert witness in the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial.

We are here to call out Ben Stein and his ludicrous ideas that are the spotlight of his new movie Expelled, about Intelligent Design. Expelled is a manipulation of lies that repackages religious creationism as Intelligent Design and teaches it as science in public schools. We must stand up to keep religion out of our public schools' science education.

-----------------UPDATE--------------------
Please take part in the fight against creationism and religion in schools. Promote real science. Help spread the word on our new video.

  • So...don't teach science in the science classroom?? FUCKING LOVELY!!! We will teach science in your churches instead!!!

  • 1:02

Is that purposefully trying to use subliminal messaging, or just a joke?

Anyway, religion in science class in a fucking oxymoron. Of course there are ignorant morons who claim that creationism is scientific, but that's why they're ignorant.

  • Hehe. Only in America. (And Saudi Arabia and islamist Turkey, it seems.)

It's so sad that you have to deal with religious in 2012... the full fruits of the Enlightenment seem to not yet have been harvested in America.

Good luck on getting rid of religion in science class. /from Europe

  • The biggest mistake in our history was not letting the South secede...

  • how do ignorant people like this get to become teachers? dont you have to be educated first?

  • @mooninquirer speaking of which, George Carlin slightly touches on this, although it wasn't really his point. watch?v=wV1lZMTCqf8&feature=related

  • interesting article on the subject: look up seedmagazine why do grandmas exist

  • @mooninquirer another intriguing thing about women, despite most males being able to reproduce until the day they die, women LIVE LONGER. There is probably a reason for this, having more older women around probably increases the fitness of the population.

  • @mooninquirer The purpose of the educational system is to produce educated citizens, not SOLELY to produce trained workers. To be a useful citizen in a republic you have to be capable of understanding the issues, not just voting the way your preacher or social group dictates. If early government thought that schools were there for job training, they NEVER would have made public schools (relatively) free. Vocational training should be taken after high school in place of college.

  • @mooninquirer it was deliberately worded to make it sound like scientists didn't have half a brain when it came to understanding religion. Scientists have no doubt that evolution occurred, so the statement was deliberately misleading, and smacked of religious intent regardless of what it actually stated. Even kids aren't that stupid.
