The seemingly endless controversy on the new Passat vehicles just wont go away. The Government now says the Passat deal is a closed chapter. Without elaborating, Finance permanent secretary James Kinyua says those who have refused to surrender their fuel guzzlers will be dealt with. The PS spoke as the public accounts committee announced it will summon finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta in a weeks time to explain the now controversial deal.

Wacha kelele na maswali retarded...itisha Mercedez yako kutoka Ujerumani hazijaisha! Uhuru hajasema mtu asijinunulie mradi ujijazie mafuta na oilo! Hata kodi hulipi unafikiri nani anaweza usimamizi wa Benz? Passat kwanzia leo!

  • what field work? the kind of fieldwork that has transformed Kenya's rural areas into vibrant metropoles? That's rubbish Musalia.

  • field work my ass!

  • This is the same treasury that tried to steal billions and blame it on a typing error. Uhuru is emulating his dad, steal and protect your cronies

  • These Mercedes Benzes are an eyesore cos they are just extravangant yet Kenyans are suffering n living in poverty. I like the way these hyenas are fighting against passat passionately. By the way when Musalia goes outside Nairobi he uses a chopper, let him stop fooling us.

  • The journalists are telling us only half the story. The cars are not just MERCEDES. The vehicles to be replaced include 4WDs that are suitable for rural terrain and rough roads. The PAJEROS and TOYOTAS should have been replaced by suitable cars for the rough terrain. PASSAT is just not suitable for muddy roads and it is surely difficulty to understand how Uhuru could make such a stupid mistake when Ministers are supposedly entitled to only one car.

  • The PASSATS are the problem. They should be reshipped to Germany ASAP. The German embassy could assist to this effect. This would be the easiest way of recovering the money instead of selling the used MERCEDES and of course PAJEROS at throw away prices. CMCs and Uhurus strategy is to transfer the cars to the government as quickly as possible in order to wash their hands of the whole scandal. But this is not going away soon. Not this time. Uhuru the crook will be cornered soon. Why only PASSAT?

  • The sale of the relinquished high end fuel guzzlers should be accounted for & made public. Kenyans need to be assured that these vehicles will be sold at market value and no under hand dealings will be taking place. 16billion budget for 30 million in returns thus far is very questionable. NTV please stay on top of this. Kenyans are tired of being fleeced by our leaders.

  • Just hand in the cars - no time for excuse!
