The U.S. government has charged 14 people with providing support to the Somali terror group al-Shabab. The indictments include suspects from Minnesota, California and Alabama, and many are American citizens. The charges in the midwestern state of Minnesota are the latest development in ongoing investigations in that state, where U.S. officials say Somali young people have been recruited by al-Shabab, which has links to al-Qaida and is fighting in Somalia. Only two of the 14 indicted Thursday have been arrested. Both are women who are naturalized US citizens and were living in Minnesota. U.S. law enforcement officials say there's a growing trend of Americans espousing extremist ideologies. VOA's Laurel Bowman has more.
