i like star trek and the the original series i have no problem with this new version sure things are not the same and yes events are diffrent but that makes it exciting i do hope the plot is better however

I dissagree. This movie simply winds the clock back so they can start all over with new stories that aren't dependant on all the "hisotry" we'ver come to know. Hopefully the next movie will focus at least a little bit on the sci-fi... But I think this time period - as in Enterprise - is more interesting. In the Next Gen era, the galaxy was beginnig to seem small, charted and all mapped out.

Viacom, paramount, and J.J. Abrams are clueless. Gene Roddenberry would be very disappointed that his vision for humanity has succumbed to coporate greed. Their movies are just candy that will not stand the test of time. All real Star Trek fans should boycott the next movie, dvd, etc. Maybe if the bottom line is affected, they change their tune.

no that doesn't make you a bad trekkie. I personally like TOS (the most), then TNG, Enterprise, and Voyager. I only watched a few episodes of DS9. It's on youtube, check out mirror darkly, archer fights a gorn and almost gets his ass killed.
