Stranded Pakistanis

The The Stranded Pakistanis who are also referred as Biharis, have a population of almost 250 thousand. They are settled in more than 60 camps in different cities of Bangladesh. The history goes back to the partition of India in 1947. They are mostly from the Indian state of Bihar, who moved to East Pakistan (present Bangladesh)during partition in 1947.

In 1971 the civil war led to the creation of Bangladesh. Due to the law & order situations these people compelled to accommodate in 66 temporary camps across the country. They never thought that this will be their permanent home for couple decades. What are the future of these people. Can we help them?

@samar90 Bangladesh already offered them citizenship. Some Biharis those born after 1971 got citizenship 6/7 years ago and they casted vote for general election in bangladesh..

Its so sad that these people r dieng there! We need to help! My dad is a obat helper. And I hope that he saves them. if he doesnt i want to help them. We should all help them! We should make them a better comunity!

its a shame that such people are not given rights. pakistan ought take them back and pakistanis all over the world should campaign for their repatriate to their motherland where their lives may be abit better.pakistan gives refuge to afghans because the pakistani government has certain dubious interests in afghanistan,the afghans are too living in poor conditions in pakistan.afghans ought to go back to their country and biharis should be given far more precedence.

Im Bihari pakistani and it pains me to see my own people this way. Biharis are smart, hardworking people. The most difficult obsticle biharis find is trying to get employed. Bangladesh should offer citizenship, Pakistan should offer immigration and countries like Canada, UAE, Scandinavian countries and Saudi Arabia should accept these people in to their countries as refugees. Biharis are extremely productive and dont waste anything.. Biharis have so much to offer to the world

Shame on Pakistan for leaving these People behind. Why don't the Paki's take them back. This is an opportunity to thank their Bengali hosts for giving them shelter even though they are poor themselves!
