@VrgniaMailman One example is that we have no public option for health care. Works fine in my father's country and in many others. Why we don't have it here is thanks to insurance company lobbyists who's only interest is profit for the insurers. Yes, thats one of my regrets but thats what happens when the president tries to be a centrist.

@VrgniaMailman I did and would be happier if Mitch McConnell had not decided that beating the democrats was more important than the nations economy. You can't honestly say that we would all have been better off with a little more cooperation in the legislature. I'm never 100% satisfied with any democratic president as they don't run as left as I would hope but I can't think of any republican in my voting lifetime that had my interests in mind.

@VrgniaMailman I know what the republicans have in store for working Americans and it will not be good for anyone who doesn't frequent the country clubs and lobbyist junkets they go to. They seem to want lower taxes yet they will not extend the payroll tax break which is meant to help the working families of America. How can people not see this?

@lunhil12 We will see who eats whose words in a bit less than 12 months, lunhil. Obama has very little chance of getting elected again if unemployment is still around 9%. And it won't make any difference if he plays the blame game to perfection, nor does it matter if the GOP candidate is mediocre. Unemployment was 7.2% when he was inaugurated, and was at 7.8 or 7.9% 6 months later. He has had almost 30 months (since mid-2009, I do not hold him responsible for the 0.7% increase) to fix economy.
