He still sounds good, and he has aged with grace.. But damn is that sad to see him play. To think he was selling out large concert halls, and now he looks a little better than a begger, trying to make ends meet in a club that most people are more interested in their conversations than listening to him. Sad and should be different.

i saw Kip play Wigan in Manchester UK around this time, and then Notiingham UK the week after. Just him and an accoustic guitar. In Wigan he had just got off the plane, looked terrible but held an audience of 1500 people who had been on the ber for 2 days solid, everyone just stood there in awe, recognising a brilliant talent..........awesome!

If you are a true, creative musician, then the small club is the most rewarding experience in every way, except the financial one of course.
You can feel the audience in a very close and personal way, and interact in a way that is impossible in a large venue.
Kip WInger is a true talent, he has the package, he doesn't need anybody else to get that feeling across!
Great performance! \m/

if i were at this event, you can bet your ass id be ignoring you if you tried talkin to me. i wouldnt pass up an opportunity to see Kip perform :)

@jnprather I watched the video you suggested on you-tube.. much better.. The crowed seemed to be really into his music and Kip seemed to be enjoying the moment :)

@ezra4no1 I am sure you and I rubbed shoulders at some of the great stadiums shows of the 80s! They are memories I won't forget and I see nothing like them today. I am just glad my generation of Rock Stars are still willing to play for us. A trully great song is just as good in an acoustical version - maybe better.

@80sballadeer I understand that true musicians play for the love of what they do and most musicians enjoy playing in smaller shows where they can be closer to their fans - it's just in this video the people around him just seemed more interested in everything else but what Kip was doing. Also.. you have to admit the 80's large rock tours were some of the best "shows" I have ever seen and something that just isn't seen as often in today's music scene. I am glad to know he is still doing well!

@ezra4no1 Man you are so wrong... True musicians play for the love of playing. His acoustic shows are better that the big rock tours of the 80s! Begger???? You and I only wish we could play for THE FUN OF IT and sound this good. I assure you he is not going hungry and worrying about his next meal or a roof over his head. GREAT FOR HIM THAT HE STILL HAS THE PASSION TO DO THIS. EVEN GREAT FOR US WHO WANT TO HEAR HIS MUSIC!

@ezra4no1 Well, there's a lot of people singing along, but if you want to feel beter for him, go watch "Kip Winger - Spell I'm Under Live In Rio RJ (Calabouço Bar) 10/10/09"... The crowd is fantastic, and he's loving every minute of it.
-
Yeah he's playing in a small place. But to me that shows his true love for music and performing. Don't knock it...unless you've lived it...
-
It's hard to watch this video as the crowd does not seem to appreciate what Kip has written.
