Bobbie Gentry sings He Did Me Wrong But He Did It Right
This song was released on a 1992 Curb Records Bobbie Gentry Greatest Hits compilation titled Ode to Billie Joe. This song was never released in the US.
My guess is that it was recorded when she was under contract for Warner Bros. records, roughly the time that she re-recorded Ode to Billie Joe for the film version (1976) - making this and the songs mentioned below her last studio recordings. She appears to have recorded at least 6 songs for Warner Bros. (Ode to Billie Joe, Slow Cookin', Steal Away, Sweet Country, Thunder in the Afternoon and He Did Me Wrong But He Did it Right)
I've been a Bobbie Gentry Fan since 1967, never heard this in all these years..wow. thanks

The problem with this piece was that it was only mass released in the United Kingdom, where they actually appreciated Bobbie for what a great talent she was.
This is a great song and would have done well on the charts if they'd released it here in the U.S. At least we can appreciate it now on You Tube. Thanks.

Thank you so much for posting these Warner-Curb recordings from the late 1970's showing Bobbie still at the top of her game.
