  • We put this show on a couple of years ago at my high school. Every night of the show (and dress rehearsal) Sister Harriet (very sweet old lady who had been part of our school for almost 50 years) would stand up and tell the audience "I am a real nun and I approve this play." Cutest thing in the world. Thanks for posting this. I have only seen my high school's version.

RIP Sister Harriet, we all miss you. <3

  • @ghosthelper100 she was also in maude. and appeared on all in the family. :-)

  • I just heard of this today when I was looking up some stuff for the golden girls. I ended up here and I'm glad I did. This is funny ;)

  • Blanche Devereaux as a nun?!?!? Rue sure had a vast range of characters. RIP

  • Gosh Rue reminds me of Mrs. Doubtfire in this!

  • @knowamericaknowbible - I can't speak for the entire Catholic community, but I'm Catholic, and I think it's hilarious! There are certainly parts of it that are a little bit borderline, but they handle it in a very humorous way, and it's obvious that they (mostly) aren't trying to belittle Catholicism, but just being goofy. :)

  • Do catholics approve of this show? Just curious.

  • wooowww thanks for uploading this!! i saw the spanish version many times and i loved it!! it is good to see it in english!! :D

  • RIP Rue! goodness, watching this i can hardly believe she's gone =[ what a talent! xxxx

  • RIP Rue McClanahan...a great talent who will be greatly missed!

  • We performed this play at my community theater. To keep the references more modern, our director decided to update Sister Julia's name to Sister Rachael, Ray of Light
