My local mountain bike trails have been snow and ice covered quite a bit this winter, so it was time to make some studded snow tires.

A lot of traction for a little bit of coin.

  • good project man, i attempted this yesturday but my method sucked and broke in 2 minutes lol, im thinking of starting a channel just for this stuff because i love cyclying and gas here is 121 per litre, good attempt but i think it would be a recipe for a flat tire when one of those things pushes back through the tire, but maybe not because you went throught the tread. Hows it working??

  • It worked great. I pumped up the tires once and they are still holding. So nearly 5 weeks and no trouble. Luck was probably a large part of it. That and lots of duct tape between the tires and tubes. Getting all rain now, so I will be decommissioning the studded tires until next year. Cheers.

  • good video! im gonna be trying this out on a spare pair of tyres soon ready for the snow and ice .

  • I ran my first pair of studded ALL last year with no problems. I used an inner tube (sliced length wise and glued with gorrila glue to the tire and inbetween the inner tube.
