Thanks for the compliment, although I don't think I'm anyone I'm not. We are also not trying to emulate anyone with this video. Many cameras can rack focus, no one director owns that.

Perhaps you have a better solution than a 1.4 lens wide open when shooting in near darkness in a bar where using a light would be both distracting and unattractive.
