  • Is there a danger to eating rattlesnakes? I was amazed to find out grasshoppers can give ya tapeworms. Thanks for the great info!

  • @p4h10oso Only one that i really take into consideration. I examine the snakes body after it is skinned to make sure it hasnt bitten itself. It wouldnt be a good thing to the venom in your system should you have an unknown cavity in a tooth or a mouth or stomach ulcer. Could be bad news. Oh and watch the head after dispatching the reptile lol.

  • The Mojave Green is the most poisonous of all rattle snakes because it's poison is neurotoxic and hemotoxic. Do you wear snake protection chaps on your lower legs and over the instep of your feet. I always wear these chaps when I go out in the country. If you tease these snakes by throwing sand or rocks at them they will charge you at very fast speeds. You will be amazed at how fast they can move toward you when they decide to become the attacker instead of the defender.

  • @johnny102marvin We have a lot of those up here. Believe it or not I have seen them over 7 feet long. There has also been talk of a strange cross breed of the western diamondback and the southern pacific rattler or the mojave and the southern pacific. I cant remember which one. I have not seen one yet.

  • Nice video on snakes. I especially like the black Rattlesnake @ 6:10 seems it would be hard to see him at dusk til dawn. Why they don't rattle in this time of season? Keep em coming on these snake vids. Thanks

  • @ez2curanut I personally think it is an energy thing. They just started coming out of the den so they are hungry and grouchy lol. The nights and mornings were still cold when this was filmed so that may also have had a factor. It is really difficult to get them to rattle at me anytime of the year anyway for some reason. The end of the video I had to have a friend move to get that one to rattle lol. I am hoping to have more snake videos up in the future. I will most likely have my spotter to lol

  • Very nice specimen Indeed John, Great Work. I search weekly for Southern Pacifics Here in Southern California they grow em mean and beautiful down here to!

  • @tobigforyou But then again....instead of being dinner, it could be the death of you. I always wondered, should I learn how to catch them, just to be a more proficient bushman, or just learn other stuff and never dwell on this subject.

  • Something people never cover in survival courses is how to safely kill these snakes in a survival situation. Like you said in 4:15 of the video you aren't in a survival situation, but what if you were? that's allot of protein.

  • @johnny102marvin sidewinders can be both as well...

  • Good one, John! Man, those are some big'uns!
