I was not aware of air crews not receveing they're own medal. Yes I do agree that is a National disgrace. Most of the bomber crews didn't know they were bombing civilian targets, though I am sure some did.

Bomber Command,an all volunteer force, suffered 55,573 aircrew killed (among these, 9,919 RCAF), trying to end a war they did not start. These men, mostly in their late teens and early 20's, died to stop Hitler and Nazi Germany. Of course they should be praised, especially given the fact that Bomber Command (along with the US 8th AF) was the only means of striking Nazi Europe directly until D-Day, 6-6-44.

Amazing, I'm in the process of getting a memorial commissioned, along with a good friend in America, for 14 airmen who died in a collision of two Halifaxes, two of these guys were Canadians

Agree entirely with your sentiment. It is a disgrace that the men of Bomber Command have not been granted the honour of a campaign medal. It is an insult to the fortitude, bravery, determination & self-sacriifice these superb men made. It is a also a great insult to Britain's superb allies who fought with us from the begining without any hesitation or conditions, the mighty Canadians, Australians, Kiwis & South Africans. RESPECT TO RAF BC & OUR ALLIES.

The bombing campaign was and remains controversial. What is not in doubt is the heroism and the sacrifice of the men who flew over Germany night after night. It is a national disgrace the air crews were denied their own campaign medal.
