We drove off the road a few times early on as I struggled to find grip on the muddy stage, but things went from bad to worse at about 7:05 when we nailed a deep puddle and the car filled up full of water. The engine ran fine, but the windshield fogged up so badly (even with the defroster on) that it was hard to see right turns and nearly impossible to see lefts.

Matt and Andy Bushore won the stage, which was the first stage win for the brother-team in over 2 years. Chad Eixenberger retained his lead as the teams headed back to the Kenton Service.

It was beginning to look like our race, and our championship effort, were both slipping away.

  • Defrost works, but it just couldn't keep up with a car full of water. Notes to self:

Run defrost when able on stage, in an effort to "preheat" windshield

replace torn up front fender liners to keep water from spraying into car

    use antifog on WS

Also, try to keep driver and codriver dry whenever possible. Wet driving suits cause fogged up windows also

  • What happened does defrost not work? I am building the dash in my truck this weekend and plan on paying special attention to the functionality of the Defrost system.
