@AchievingFactor my guess is you have never seen it either, as that is not "Joanne" singing, but Female Soloist. That's how Jonathan wrote it. Don't believe everything you see in the movies.

my opinion, I always will prefer the original, but it's always nice to get a fresh take on something we know so well.

I actually really really felt the soloist. I was ready for the love and she belted that shit then let it mellow it was deep. Other than that it was okay.

My guess is the 13 people that liked this have never seen RENT before...because that was an utter disgrace to the show, Jonathan, and broadway itself. This "Joanne" lady sounds like a joke from an american idol episode.

@OsnapArden I agree! I love 2 people in cast but other than that... It's nothing like rent! I don't even feel like I'm seeing that show.

I don't know what it is, but their energy seems a bit forced or something, like they haven't gelled as a cast. They were good vocally but I just wasn't feeling it.

such a disappointment. they don't capture the essence of Rent or Jonathan Larson at all. Vocally they are fine. The girl who is singing Joanne's solo makes me cringe.
