I was sorting through my stuff and came across an old tape recording of the World Pipe Band Championships in 1974?. During one of the performances Shotts and Dykehead played "The Rakes of Kildare" with the great Alex Duthart playing leading drummer.
I dont have the actual written music for it so had to listen and pick up what the drumnmers were playing from the recording.
Some of the sticking might not be how the original was played so this as near as I can get with it!
I will eventually write this this one down as I think its got a great feel to it.
All credit goes to the late Alex Duthart.
If anyone has the actual music I would love a copy of it !!!
when you come to writing that down would it be possible for you to email me a copy please? it a really nice beating and ide like to learn although i dont think i could just by watchin you and by ear not quite as good as you lol :P

Nice touch, very well done. I admire the pipe and drum style, unfortunately not many opportunities in this corner of the world to see it played live. Thanks for sharing.
