@jamshid4 well it says in your koran to strike down the idolators and non believers, to kill them - ive looked at islam since before 9/11 trying to understandthe mentality - and tome its simple, islamic culture picks on the weak and vulnerable, it rules through fear whether it be sharia punishment or allahs punishemnt - religion is outdated, the woirld hates islam becuase of the way it acts, not what it says in a stupid book

@NebulousEsoteric There is no reason why anyone would necessarily have heard of the vast Arab slave trade. BTW it continued well into the 20th century in Arabia. Most people are quite parochial about their interest in history. Most Americans don't even know that the trans-Atlantic trade had been running for well over 100 years before the British were involved. @ritchloui The problem is that I am not from the western side of the Islamic world but the eastern, where persian, mongol influence played a huge role in cultural development with Islam. Islam prohibits slavery, therefore to add "muslim" next to "arab" would accuse non-arab muslims of slavery, as well as that I have never heard of arab slavery for a millenium. OF COURSE there were cases of slavery with every civilization, but you are speaking of mass-slavery, a scale anyone would've heard of.

@NebulousEsoteric It's odd that you do not know about the extent and nature of the Arab Muslim slave trade in Africa. It's about time you found out about it. I think you will be very shocked. The Portuguese traded with the Arab Muslims for African slaves. The last of the indiginous, non-Muslim African civilisations fell in 1580. Do your own research. For 1,000 years the Muslims also enslaved people all over Europe too. They declared Jihad on US in 1782. Surprised? I think so.

@ritchloui Funny you should call them violent hell holes after allegedly 1,400 years of "slavery and theft" by the muslims, when it was the british coloniolism that incorporated all the borders in that region and used their typical "divide and conquer" tactics on africans. Also, show me some kind of reference to where you get this information, your claim of arab muslim slavery of 1,400 years. Did you know about the vast African slave armies that were used to invade and overthrow the previously great civilisations of the Middle East and North West Africa?
