http://reelseo.com/steve-jobs-impact-on-the-video-industry/ ► Steve Jobs passed away last week. The story is all over the news, and rightfully so! Steve Jobs impacted the world in significant ways, changing how we communicate, consume media, work, and even relate to each other.

  • I remember when I had to use Dazzle to convert analog video to digital video. It was such a hassle and didn't work half the time. Thanks for Apple products EVERYTHING is way easier.

  • @CxwarrenxD So does that mean the person/people who did it don't deserve any credit for doing it? Since someone else would have done it anyways.. is that what you are saying? (If I didn't write this comment to your comment, someone else would have! ;-)

  • @poolboyinla I'd say if it were not for Jobs' vision with Macs and their software, that Adobe (who's first products with PostScript only worked on Macs) and Microsoft would not have grown into something you could be using... i.e. editing Video on a PC using Adobe was directly influenced by Apple (which means Steve Job). I'm not sure he was that good of a marketer (def. not as good as MS) but he did make good stuff and cause others to make stuff that competed with Apple's stuff.

  • I am a a Microsoft and Adobe Premiere man. I don't know much about Jobs but it seems he didn't invent much, he just was a good marketer.

  • Thanks for the tribute, quite appropriate.

The introduction and development of Quicktime played a significant role in making desktop video possible. The Mac comes with this powerful multimedia engine right out of the box and it's wonderful. Quicktime Pro makes it easy to transcode as well as play various types of video and audio content.

Amazing how many innovations Steve Jobs and the Apple team have brought to our lives.

  • I had no idea I liked Steve Jobs so much! Way to go Pixar, iPod, iMovie and especially iMAC which is what I'm using to type this on : ) I like this video too!

  • You are a legend Steve, rest in peace..

  • @reelseo I look at it like this. If steve did not impact the video industry then someone else would have. In my mind this means that he was nothing special.
