MLB the Show 09 Umpire misjudge in tag-up play?

I was just curious if this was considered umpire's mistake?

I always thought that the tag-up play has to be the play where catcher has to tag the runner up first rather than stepping on the plate and then tag him later

In the video however, you see the catcher having his foot on the plate, then the runner slides on and he's caught out.
The runner touched the plate before the catcher tagged him

All this is , the umpire missed the call. I guess the makers of the game decided to throw that element in when they designed the game. Umpires miss calls sometimes, so they put this in. The catcher having his foot on the plate has nothing to do with the call, only the catcher sometimes blocks the plate that way....

i see, so the realism in the game. i like it :) i actually saw couple of other misses by the umpires with different plays with my franchise and got gains/losses but i guess that is part of the game.
