'Silent But Deadly' begins filming here
Michale Patrick has a busy month in front of him. He's not alone. The producer of "Silent But Deadly" said a total of 40 area residents have been hired to work on the film which began filming in Chatham-Kent Tuesday.
The movie, which takes a fresh look at the classic slasher flicks of the '70s and '80s, stars Jason Mewes, known for his work in "Jay and Silent Bob," "Clerks" and "Dogma". Other big names include veteran Hollywood actor William Sadler, who was in "The Green Mile," "Shawshank Redemption" and "Die Hard 2," and Patrick McKenna, who appeared as the beloved nephew Harold on the "Red Green Show," and in the Global television show "Traders".
The film, which has a budget of just over $1 million, will be shot at McKeough Public School and two locations in the Kent Bridge Road area. Fifteen days of filming are planned over the next 24 days, "so it's a quick spend," Patrick said.
