First off, I love the "I love ya" at :30. That said, my old boy started doing this a couple of years ago in the middle of the night and when I first heard it, it really scared me because I thought he was in pain. I found that that's not at all the case. :-) Since then, I've become used to him howling in the middle of the night. Nowadays, all I have to do is call his name a few times and he stops. I think he just likes to know where I am and that he's not alone in the house.
