Great song about a positive male role model. Made me think of my dad and how much of himself he has given for his family, and what he has taught me. Love you dad.

There was a man in my mom's life at the time when this song came out and my mom reminded me recently that I said i was going to color this man father. He just passed and though I was a kid so young at that time I remember mom being in LOVE for the first time. My dad was a dead beat so when this man came into her life I never seen mom light up the way she did with this guy. Sadly after 11 years the relationship ended but when I hear this song it reminds me of him. May he RIP.

@mingo314159 You will because you understand this song. We have adopted five times. There is nothing more important in life than giving children a family.
-
I'm about to "adopt" due to to family issues. I only hope I have have the strength to measure up to what this song is about.

We sure could use more good fathers in these trying times, maybe this song could be an inspiration. And hats off to all those good fathers out there.

I come a family where there was a step parent. The parent was a father. He was my biological father and he had five step- children. My father and our father didn't use the word step. He called us all his children. Our father passed away a few years ago and he was the one that was holding our family together. Its not the one who plant the seed that is the parent, but the one who nurture and be there for the child. I am proud of our father. May he rest in peace. Thank you daddy for you.

Who knew that the beat that would keep his kids out at the club until 2 AM was lurking on the other side of this record. HAH!
Breakbeat that started hiphop beats on the B side.
