Moondance on Alto Saxophone

I've only been playing the Alto Sax for about 4 months now. I have been learning Moondance, the Michael Buble version. The song is playing through my BOOMPHONES headphones external speakers that are around my neck, and I didn't play the solo because I don't know it. There are a few mistakes with pitch, but I've only been playing for a few months so I'm still working on it.

hey i just came across this and I'm a freshman in high school, and I've been playing for about 7 years. Did you transcribe this? Its good, but if you really want to become exceptional at improvising, try not transcribing things by ear. I recommend learning scales and taking a song and improvising over it. And not just any song, some real jazz. Not clarence clemmons or paul desmond, i mean dexter gordon and wayne shorter.

@MASSgolf7007 Thank you for the comment and tips. My sax teacher actually transcribed it for me by ear, he wanted me to learn by ear. But I've actually stopped playing recently do to time constraints. I know it's a shit excuse but it happens. I enjoyed playing it.

Hey :)

I play alto saxophone too! Moondance is a jazz song, it's edgy. You have to know when to touch your reed with your tougne, and when you need to let notes simmer. Remember, If you stay safe when (when playing music) you're only playing the notes. It's when you let things simmer and put an edgy side to it that you're really playing music.

It was never meant to be safe ;P
