Senate Bill 119 would create medical review panels to review maltreatment cases involving nurses, physicians, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Sponsor Sen. Julie Denton (R-Louisville) says the measure would keep more physicians in the state and lower medical costs by reducing litigation. Wanda Delaplain, whose father died from nursing home neglect, debated attorney Larry Forgy about the proposed measure. They testified before the Senate Health and Welfare Committee on February 12, 2014.
