Ok, this video is just music vidoe versus music video. I just want to see what people think. The Jacksons, Earth Wind and Fire, and Kool and the Gang all used the same type of special effect for their videos, though each usage was slightly different. the rainbow trail effect was used only during certain key scenes in the Jacksons video, while EWF went full blast, Kool the Gang used it slightly while incorportating some digital effects, all the videos are very similar. Please, this is not song versus song, but video versus video

Kool puts me to sleep, EWF was da shizat, J5 had there day! But these were 3 different eras, types and even Genres of Music, not to be compared.

Actually they are all the same genre of music and EWF and The Jacksons videos all came out the same year. The purpose was comparing the video styles and NOT the music

@1980Triumph On the contrary, these groups were considered R&B groups, which has an unlimited form to it. It was the industry that put MJ aat POP level. back in the day, POP was never used, except on the charts. This is disco/-post disco type stuff...aka...dance music...roller skating....boogie down, etc. But in the hood, we had all three on the record player. J5, EWF & Kool are all R&B groups.

When did I not consider these groups R&B? I honestly do not know what you are responding to. Everything you mentioned I am quite aware of and what the term Pop meant.
