What about the guard members that broke their solemn oath to defend & uphold the constitution and helped in the illegal confiscation of guns? Just a few? But where are their colleagues? COs? Why doesn't someone have the intestinal fortitude to prefer charges? I would've never obeyed that order, I wouldn't have permited my soldiers to, I would've leveled my weapon at any officer that ordered such, and I would prefer charges against anyone involved after the fact.

Courage goes beyond the battlefield.
the silence in the face of these deeds by the NG at large is a source of shame. Is there no active duty soldier out there who still remembers that oath? I cry for America -A veteran

I wrote a description of the video on the day I post this video and it says, "This is Ga National Guard during Hurrincane Katrna relief and evacuations. I know that GA National Guard was not the only Goverment Agency helping out there."

There's an informative site called JoinTheNationalGuard that has a lot of good stuff for those interested in joining.

If you keep them out of the fight, then you will have no National Guard. Nobody would join. If the National Guard were kept home, I...and most of the NG soldiers that I know would transfer to the USAR.

dude i wasnt sticking my nose into the national guards business. i just think they should stay home to help the citzens in case of a crisis i have no problem what so ever with them fighting. my step dad is in the 48th infantry brigade out of valdosta GA. they are my brothers and sisters in arms just like the navy, coast guard, amry and airforce i have much repect for the national guard

Listen Marine. If you are going to ask "top command" (whatever that is) to do anything ask them to whatever for the Marine Corps. Please keep your nose out of National Guard business. I respect what you do, but you have no business trying to dictate what the National Guard does. I don't ask the Navy to keep its Naval Infantry (Marines) on ships and not on land.
