i have a 1968 rupp tt-500 and it has a jackshaft and i have a 3.o hp engine and it does around 30 i just put a 5hp raptor on it and now it does around 45-50mph
You can remove the governor, the 5hp flatheads have been proven to handle the high rpm's. I've had my 5hp Briggs ungoverned for the last year and the previous owner ungoverned it a while ago. Keep oil in it and it will last forever.
