Muskegon teen dies hours after nearly drowning

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - A Muskegon teenager died hours after nearly drowning in a Muskegon County channel Sunday night.

Dylan Rozorio was swimming across the mouth of the channel at Muskegon Lake near Harbour Towne Marina on Sunday night with two friends, Randall and Anthony Osborne.

Rozario began struggling half way across the channel when he went under water, Muskegon County Deputy Todd Dunham told 24 Hour News 8.

Eventually another member of the group he was swimming with found Rozorio and brought him to shore.

"I watched the rescue," Bill Bailey told 24 Hour News 8. "It was about 15 minutes. A couple of guys were looking around in the area to see if they could locate the man under the water but they had no idea where he was. After about 15 minutes, they found him under water and then the paramedics arrived."
