스쿨뮤직에서 만나는 야마하 BB714BS 빌리시헌 뉴시그네처 베이스기타

야마하와 공식 대리점 계약을 맺고 야마하의 악기를 판매하고 있는 온라인 악기 판매기업 스쿨뮤직(대표 안정모, www.schoolmusic.co.kr)이 베이스기타 모델 '야마하 BB714BS 빌리시헌 뉴시그네처'를 선보였다.

2008년 하반기 신상품인 야마하 BB714BS 빌리시헌 뉴시그네처는 '좀 더 많은 팬들이 나의 악기를 접했으면 좋겠다'는 빌리시헌의 요구에 따라 개발된 악기로 YASH(Yamaha Artist Service Hollywood)에서 특별 개발된 우퍼 픽업 장착한 것이 특징이다.

야마하 특유의 BB쉐이프 모양의 바디 디자인, 고급 앨더 목재로 제작하여 가벼우면서도 풍부하고 따뜻하며 고른 음색이 특징이다. 스피디하고 기교 넘치는 베이스 플레이에 적합하도록 빠르고 편한 넥감을 제공한다.

빌리시헌(Billy Sheehan)은 미국 락 씬의 기교파 베이시스트로 Mr. Big에서 활동했으며, 현재 로 솔로와 세션활동을 하고 있으며, 나이아신(Niacin)이라는 테크니션들이 모여서 만든 3인조 밴드 활동도 겸하고 있다.
특히 스피드를 보여주는 그의 속주 테크닉은 쓰리핑거 주법에 의한 오른손 피킹에 의한 것이며, 엄지 손가락을 픽업 위에 올려놓는 안정된 자세에서 출발한다고 분석되고 있다.
