This is a Hafco HM-52 manual metal milling machine, home converted to CNC. In this video I have made a mounting plate that fit's the HM-52 horizontal spindle. Onto this mounting plate goes a 125mm OD 3 Jaw chuck. The video show's the machine configured as a cnc lathe doing a small turning job out of a 1" 4140 high tensile rod. The machine is running ball screws, 2.2Kw spindle drive, servo drives from CNC TEKNIX, and controll software is Mach3 Turn.

  • Hi! looking at getting a HM52 in the future, is there any downfalls in the stock product or anything to be wary of?

upgrading from a shoddy seig x2.
