Vitas Off.Homepage http://www.vitas.com
Translation Evgenia Azmayparashvili via Paola López Kelly.
...................................In the beginning the presenter introduces Vitas and Pudovkin, saying that Vitas is one of the most charismatic artists on the Russian stage, and Pudovkin is his producer.
Then the presenter says that Vitas is not only a singer, but he's also an actor, peacemaker and even a medical man. After this, he asks Vitas what he has been doing for the last few years and where he has been all this time. Vitas answers that they are working 39 hours a day, preparing for new programmes. One of the presenters jokes that probably in China, where Vitas and Pudovkin spend most of their time, a day consists of 39 hours. Meanwhile, Vitas goes on: "We are recording new songs, writing new verses, designing new costumes, getting ready for a new programme. We have a lot of new creative plans, and we hope they'll be soon realized."
The presenter asks about China and Chinese audience, that is the biggest in the world. How did Vitas manage to get into Chinease market, and what's more important, conquer Chinese audience? Vitas answers that the question concerning the way of conquering China is a professional question to his producer Pudovkin. The presenter interrupts Vitas saying that this question is also to Vitas' parents who endowed him with a big talent. Vitas goes on, saying that he has been doing art(playing music) since his childhood, and now it has results.
The presenter asks about the culture differences between Russia and China. Pudovkin answers that this question is more relevant for him, 'cause Vitas mainly deals with the stage, creating new perfomances of songs, and in general, art. Pudovkin says: "I'm asked how our artist is able to gather 30-40 thousand stadiums in China, Japan...countries which are not so close to Russian mentality?" The presenter suggests that the clue to Vitas' success in China is in his high-pitched voice. Pudovkin answers that like in all complex issues there is not just one explanation. "If an artist has a real charisma, he has nobility, an artistic gift, and he has the ability to present all this on the stage, then he can perform in any country: China, Italy..." says Pudovkin.
He also adds that they're going to visit Brazil, and that Vitas will be the first Russian star to present solo concerts in Latin America.
Then the presenter asks if there is any men's jealousy towards Vitas in China. As in Russia there are a lot of fans' husbands who are very jealous of Vitas. Vitas answers he has no time to examine this issue. The presenter mentions the myth about a dog's collar, which makes Pudovkin wonder. Meanwhile, the other presenter says that they mean myths in general, 'cause Pudovkin and Vitas also invent myths, and later these myths are exposed by them. E.g., recently in July 2011 there was a rumour that Vitas got married, and even details were given, such as the wedding dress, the way the bride was clad, the way the groom was dressed...The presenter asks: where is the truth, and did the wedding really take place?
Vitas answers that there are some close to him, too private topics, that he doesn't want to speak about. He says that there are a lot of other various interesting themes, which can be subject to a conversation. But the presenter notices that there is no ring on Vitas' finger. And Pudovkin confirms this. "That's the truth." says he.
After the advertising, the presenter says that Vitas has opened the door into China. Vitas remarks that Chinese goods are sold all over the world, but Russian goods are rare ones on Chinese market; that's why, the more Russian artists get into China the better.
The presenter repeats that Vitas opened the way to China, interested the Chinese in Russian art, and now, as a result, there are 250 concerts, and there is a contract. Then the presenter asks if Vitas has studied Chinese language. Vitas answers yes, and translates into Chinese the phrase offered by the presenter: We're glad to welcome the viewers of the information channel NTV UTRO. The presenter remarks that Chinese is a beautiful language.
Then the presenter says that Vitas has become the best foreign artist in 2011, according to the version of MTV Award in Asia, and got into the Guinness Book of Records. The presenter asks if Chinese audience has contributed a lot to Vitas' victory, and Pudovkin answers that by means of simple calculations Vitas has been named as the most popular Russian artist in the world. Such a conclusion has been made due to the number of registered fans of Vitas. The presenter again asks if the main group of Vitas' fans are Chinese? Pudovkin answers that there are not only Chinese, but plenty of other fans.
