These are the saddest of possible words
Tinker to Evers to Chance.
Trio of bear cubs and fleeter than birds
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble
Making a Giant hit into a double
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble
Tinker to Evers to Chance.

- Franklin Pierce Adams
narrated by Richard Brundage

  • @TheGovernmentInExile NO they last won in 1908, but last played in WS in 1945

  • Wow! That recently?? Ernie Banks wasn't even born then, was he?

I see it this way: If the Red Sox can do it, so can the Cubbies. And my great great great great great great grandchildren will be around to see it! Just think of that!
