In this episode, Mark explains how to get outside and shoot a self-assignment in order to expand your photographic skills. He gives himself two assignments and spends an hour taking pictures and SEEING things that most people would just walk by. Follow Mark on Twitter for a weekly #60minphotochallenge. You can then post your photos on the AdoramaTV flickr group.

  • Hey Mark, you look like Chris Elliot. I've been watching a lot of videos on Youtube and yours, specifically this one is the first one that has actually applied some practical but more importantly, understandable instruction.

    Thanks so much.

  • Wtf, isn't the music in this from nigahiga's videos? O_o

  • this is what i needed

  • @JennieD2011 oh ya i kno they have the store in NYC, i live here too and go there often.. but these youtube videos, i always wondered where they were located b/c they are always in the suburbs.. i was just thinking Long island

  • @solidstream13 ~ hi there! I actually did this when attempting to shoot some images of the moon on the night of the 19th of June. I was using my new Canon Powershot SX30 IS for these images. I took several images ~ all on manual ~ changing the shutter speeds and aperture values to see how the images would look. I was happy with the results that I got. I even posted one to my FB page and will do on the Flickr site also.

  • @iadubber ~ Yes, the T3i is much smaller and lighter than the 60D body. But is still a good camera choice, also costs less than the 60D body. But the T3i is still a good camera for the money. I just bought the 60D body last week. Just have to get a lens and external flash for it now.

The company is located in New York. Put their name in your search bar. Once you get to the website, hit the button that says "contact us." Hope this helps.

  • I just watched this video and found it very interesting & informative. For someone to do these "self-assignments" will surely make the person a better photographer in time. After all, they say "practice makes perfect." I always look for things that 'catch' my eye and find interesting to photograph. I may end up at a local park, the mountains or wherever. The point is ~ get out and do it! And don't delete any images from your memory card until you preview them on your computer monitor!

  • Dials and gauges? What the heck? It's the digital age and I'm looking for dials and gauges. I failed this one.

  • PLAYA PLAYA!!
