@DaGleese Youtube video files are stored as .mp4, .flv, and WebM video file formats. The Youtube app on iOS uses either the .mp4 or WebM file to playback on Quicktime or HTML5. Besides, Youtube would not have to rewrite anything. Why do videos look grainy and crappier than when you first made it? They compress it three times for each of those file formats. MP4 is first, then WebM, then FLV. The outcome on a computer is bad because FLV is last to be compressed. Best on iOS because MP4 is first.

...because flash games are so great.
My cheap and nasty mobile phone supports flash games, and they all suck. iOS doesn't need flash support, not when it has a million apps providing better quality software than flash could provide.
Damn Apple trolling can be difficult sometimes... problem is that people who use apple stuff mostly like it, it's a shame that apple haters can't effectively propogate their hate among apple users... who could give a monkeys fart about what the haters 'think'.

heres what i dont understand.... youtube uses flash, but there is a youtube app for ipad....
does this mean that youtube have to compeltely rewrite all their videos to another format for that app to use them?
i think this whole unsupported flash fiasco is just a marketing ploy by apple to sell apps in place of stuff you would normally have free with flash

@Account0997 flash can be used by any uploader get rid of it get rid of the people not conforming to apple by making you get an account with apple to use their software flash is saving true knowledge
