Pride of the Igbos

The Igbos/Ibos live in the South Eastern Nigeria. They are believed to have Jewish Origins and have strikingly similar traditions with the Jews. They are very industrious, hardworking and were massacred en-masse during the Biafran Nigerian War in the late 1960's. This video featuring a sample of infleuntial and reknown igbo people both back home in Nigeria and worldwide, some are past presidents, governors of the Nigerian Central Bank and other professional in their own right and field. The list is too long, but this is just a few.

@pseudonmynpulicus my point is that the whole Ibo's tribe in nigeria differ by individual culture and rapid acceptance of enlightenment. Your question is very generic and you would need to research the entire ibo culture in Nigeria as a whole to have that answered. However if you try with History department in Nsukka or any other higher institution you may be lucky to find if any one's covered that area of research. That's a start. One thing i know is that only the Church strive to stamp it out

Great video.Enjoyed the great music. One correction though: Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was not the first Prime Minister of The Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was the first President. The First and only Prime Minister as you know was Alhaji Tafawa Balewa. May God bless our wonderful country, Nigeria.

How many of these people are living in Ibo land?. Perhaps 2%. One day the ibos will have independence so that the north and west can be free from these great wanderers.

@zweeterion, i have no problems with our highly talented Nollywood actors who have continued to make Nigeria proud.I just pointed out the flaws in your hierarchy.Give honor 1st to those who deserve it.If America or any group for that matter wants to name their heroes,they would not start with Will Smith or 50cent.Yet these people have made great contributions to the USA. George washighton,Abraham Lincoln,Martin Luther King etc whose contributions made it possible for 50cent will be 1st named

Ochiagha Nnewi is Chief MCK Ajuluchukwu,Chief mbazulike Amechi is Ochiagha Ukpor.Sorry for the mix up.But both prominient Igbo sons played a massive activist role for the Independence of Nigeria and the formation of a pan Nigerian platform party NCNC which allowed Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe to become the first President of Nigeria.Without diminishing the role of the Nollywood stars,Igbo have true men of timbre and calibre that enable Igbo progress very rapidly between 1945 to 1965.We must honor them too

@belemaful you are wrong , the question is do the present jews link with Igbos (Hebrews), cos the original hebrews were blacks not white. . The present white folks in isreal today, actually are from Russia who moved to Germany, then were given the land of Israel ( political thing), not ancestoral.
