  • HOBO DAYS IS THE SECOND WEEKEND OF AUGUST....NOT THE FIRST, LIKE STATED AT THE END OF THIS VIDEO!!!!! SO MARK YOUR CALENDER AND COME ENJOY THE FUN!!!!

  • You know what tobesone you need to shut the fuck up! I live in this town and it is a good celebration. It gets the community together.

  • this is the gayest shit i've ever seen, hobos are cool but they shouldn't have some faggy convention organised by these people................shits fake

  • Your right, the day of the mythical hobo is long gone. There are a number of guys that hop freights for the adventure of it and take it quite seriously. I don't think the feeling of wanderlust is gone. There are a few riding the rails for that reason. But, the individual looking for work from place to place no longer exists as far as I know and I keep my ear to the rail as far as the hobo community is concerned.

  • I think the day of the hobo has past. Trains are too fast today and the 911 massacre has made rail yards more sensitive places.

  • It is so convoluted that going to Britt is a sad experience. With all the wanna-be's and members of the hobo community that have been elected king or queen of the hobos, for me the meaning of the experience is gone. By example, Red Bird, Grampa Dudley and that young women and is a librarian from Rockford should have refused the opportunity. Their greed to be something they are not just waters down the community to nothing.

  • The punks have showed up in Britt, with booze, dope, dogs with elimination problems and tried to take over. This year the mayor has added drug sniffing dogs, and people have to register when they show up. Over a hundred years of a great hobo gathering, and in a couple of years braindead, clueless, people who have no business being there have trashed the place. What a shame. No respect. May be this year they'll go somewhere else and there can be a decent hobo gathering again.

  • ya..hobo day isnt no more fun is it?

  • its a shame britt is no longer the hobo friendly town it once was. mostly this festival is a chance for the city to cash in on folklore, while dismissing any true traveler that arrives to partake in the celebration. next year they are talking of "mandatory registration" to be enforced by the police to ensure no profanity or individuals with warrants will be in attendance. what a joke.
